Instructions for Using One Touch Escape

Chapter 5 · Manual page 236

You should understand that this system is only designed to assist the driver in parking exit, and the driver is still the main operator, and should comply with national and local traffic safety regulations, and be responsible for the safety of the entire parking-exit process. You should judge the use of the system based on the overall environment (such as weather, geographical environment, etc.), and assume the corresponding responsibility for your judgment.

  • The system performance depends on the ability of ultrasonic sensors and surround view cameras to detect and recognize the environment. The user is required to monitor the vehicle safety in real time, and take over the vehicle if necessary to ensure the safety of the vehicle and surroundings.
  • Currently, the sensors cannot identify hanging, small, and narrow obstacles, as well as barbed wire, guardrails, fences, etc. If there are such obstacles in the environment, please pay particular attention and ensure that the environment is suitable and safe, and be ready to intervene at any time to take full control of the vehicle to avoid a collision.
  • Keep the rearview mirror unfolded when using the function to ensure that the left/right camera operates properly.
  • If the surface of the camera is stained or blocked, the perception capability will be affected, resulting in failure to identify the surroundings. Please clean the camera as soon as possible.
  • During the operation of the function, due to the blind spot of the perception system, it will not be able to timely detect and identify any vehicles passing in front or behind as well as any pedestrians approaching quickly which may result in a failure to take avoidance measures or stop in time. The warnings and important notes of S-APA with Fusion are also applicable to the intelligent parking-exit function, refer to “Warnings and Important Notes of S-APA with Fusion”. Function Limitation and Errors: The parking-exit function may not operate properly in the following scenarios
  1. Dark or low light environments will significantly reduce the sensor’s perception capability, which can affect the smooth operation of the function.
  2. Rainy, foggy, snowy or extremely cold or hot and other adverse weather environments will significantly effect the sensors capability, which can affect the smooth operation of the function.
  3. When other intelligent driver assistance functions are working, the intelligent parking-exit function cannot be enabled.
  4. Currently, the parking-exit function is supported by using data from parallel parking distance (length) and vertical parking distance (width), rather than from the diagonal or irregular parking distances.
  5. The function cannot operate when the front and rear distance of the horizontal parking space is less than 1.1m and the left and right width of the vertical parking distance is less than 0.6m.
  6. When the system identifies that there is no obstacle within 4 meters in front of the vehicle, it will determine that you can easily park exit, in this case, the intelligent parking-exit function will not be available for use.
  7. If the vehicle has moved since last parking in and engagement of P gear, then the function cannot be enabled.
  8. When the system identifies that there are obstacles on both sides of the vehicle within a certain range, resulting in insufficient space required for parking exit, the function cannot work.
  9. The intelligent parking-exit function does not work when driving on ramps.
  10. The sensor cannot identify the road with height difference, so do not use the function on the road with cliffs and steps to avoid accidents.
  11. The sensor cannot detect potholes, ditches, or uneven obstacles on the road. If such obstacles exist in the path for reversing, do not enable the function to avoid safety risks.
  12. When the steering wheel angle is too large, it will cause temporary suspension of the function, so please try to centralise the steering wheel before enabling the function.
  13. Do not use One Touch Escape if anything, such as a ball hitch, bike rack, or trailer, is attached to the tow hitch.
