Full-speed Driver Assistance System

Chapter 5 · Manual page 258

The full-speed driver assistance system works on the same basis as the adaptive cruise control system. If the lane lines ahead on both sides are clear, the system will assist the vehicle in driving within the lane lines; if there is a vehicle ahead and the lane lines are not clear, the system can assist the vehicle in following the track of the vehicle ahead.

The driver should adjust the vehicle speed and the following distance according to the road visibility, weather and road conditions. The full-speed driver assistance system has reduced response to pedestrians, stationary vehicles, vehicles crossing the lane or oncoming vehicles in the same lane. If the full-speed driver assistance system cannot fully reduce the vehicle speed, the driver must apply the brake by pressing the brake pedal. If another vehicle cuts into the current lane under congested conditions, the system may not brake quickly enough due to the fact that the cut-in vehicle does not enter its detection range, and the driver must be prepared to take full control and actively apply the brake.
