Important Instructions for Using Commanded Lane Change

Chapter 5 · Manual page 264

The commanded lane change system is an auxiliary system, which can provide assistance to the driver, it does NOT replace the driver. Due to the limitations of system detection and control when using the commanded lane change system, the driver must always pay attention to the surrounding environment of the vehicle, and correct or take full control of the steering when necessary, otherwise accidents or personal injuries may be caused.

When changing lanes using Commanded Lane Change, It is the driver’s responsibility to determine whether a lane change is safe and appropriate. Therefore, before initiating a lane change, always check blind spots, lane markings, and the surrounding roadway to confirm it is safe and appropriate to move into the target lane.

The commanded lane change can assist in driving into one lane at a time. To change lanes again, the direction indicator lamp should be enabled again after completing the first lane change.

If the driver operates the steering wheel or presses the brake pedal during the lane change, the lane change will exit.

If the light or visibility is poor at night or the lane lines are not clear, the lane change may not be activated.

If the camera is blocked or dirty, the ambient brightness changes suddenly, the camera mounting position is changed, or the camera view is reduced or obscured by bad weather such as heavy rain or snow, the lane change cannot be activated.

The commanded lane change may not recognize special vehicles, such as vehicles with the rear blocked or with irregular shape, and may miss stationary or slow-moving vehicles. Special attention must be paid to special scenarios such as night time driving or adverse weather conditions.
