Important Instructions for Using Full-speed Driver Assistance System
Chapter 5 · Manual page 261
The full-speed driver assistance system is an auxiliary system, which can provide assistance to the driver, it does NOT replace the driver. Due to the limitations of system detection and control when using the full-speed driver assistance system, the driver must always hold the steering wheel, pay attention to the surrounding environment of the vehicle, and correct or take over full control of the steering when necessary, otherwise accidents or personal injuries may be caused. The full-speed driver assistance system will be limited or does not work in the following conditions:
- The driver presses the accelerator pedal rapidly, makes emergency steering manoeuvre or presses the brake pedal hard;
- The system recognizes that the driver does not manipulate the steering wheel for a period of time;
- When the system implements the control, the driver is manipulating the steering wheel;
- The lane line is too thin, damaged or fuzzy;
- Objects or landscape features are casting strong shadows on the lane markings, or the road surface contains pavement seams or other high-contrast lines;
- The vehicle is driving on a bend with a small curvature radius or on too narrow or too wide road;
- The vehicle has just entered the road section with lanes or has passed the road section without lane lines;
- The driver actively controls the lane change or the lateral sway is too fast;
- When driving along the track of the vehicle ahead, the turning radius of the vehicle ahead is too small;
- The anti-lock brake system (ABS) and the dynamic stability control system (SCS) are activated;
- The anti-lock brake system (ABS), dynamic stability control system (SCS), electric power steering system (EPS), etc. have failed or a fault has been detected.
- Encounter a vehicle or object which is stationary or traverses the lanes (including but not limited to traffic cones, water-filled barriers, construction warning signs, etc.);
- For other constraints, refer to the “Constraints of Adaptive Cruise Control Function” section. It is not recommended to use the full-speed driver assistance system in the following situations:
- Driving in sports style;
- Driving in bad weather;
- Driving on poor road section;
- Driving through road construction site;
- When driving the vehicle on a steep, meandering road or slippery road (such as roads covered with snow or ice, a wet road,or a road with large puddles);
- When driving off-road or on an unpaved road.
- There is no centre line separation from the oncoming lane, no lane line, no lane line at the exit, roundabout, and roadside stationary vehicles. The driver should be prepared to take full control of the vehicle at any time in the following situations:
- In the case of increased lanes, lane merges, etc., the driver is required to take active control.
- In the case of complex traffic conditions (such as intersections, road sections with traffic congestion, etc.), the driver is required to take active control.
- When driving along the track of the vehicle ahead with the function on, the driver should pay attention to the status of vehicles on both sides and behind, and overtake the vehicle when it is safe to do so.
