This series of models have an electric power steering (EPS) function, which can automatically adjust the power steering magnitude. The EPS system is available only when the vehicle starts.

If the EPS fails, the steering may appear very heavy, which can affect driving safety!

Steering feel mode With the vehicle stationary, when the user selects the ‘CUSTOM’ option in the ‘Vehicle Settings’ - ‘Driving’ mode on the central screen, three settings for personalized steering feel can be selected.

  1. Light: provides a high level of assistance and a light feel.
  2. Moderate: provide a moderate level of assistance with a moderate feel.
  3. Steady: provides a low level of assistance with a heavier feel.

When the EPS is working, holding the steering wheel on full lock for long periods will result in a reduction in steering power, causing a heavier feel to the steering!

If the 12 volt battery has been disconnected for any reason, upon reconnection the warning lamp will illuminate yellow. This shows that the steering requires calibration. With the steering wheel set to the central straight ahead position, rotate the wheel to full left lock, return the steering to the central straight ahead position, then rotate the wheel to full right lock and back to centre. The lamp will now extinguish and the steering will be restored.
