Driver Monitoring System
Chapter 5 · Manual page 271
The driver monitoring system is only an auxiliary driving tool. Under all circumstances, the driver must be responsible for the safety of the vehicle. Fatigue driving and distracted driving are strictly prohibited. The driver must always concentrate on driving carefully. The Driver Monitoring System (DMS) camera is situated on the A-pillar trim panel on the driver side. The Driver Monitoring System can identify the driver’s fatigue and distraction states via the camera, and remind the driver accordingly based on the identified levels of fatigue and distraction. Tip: If the Driver Monitoring System is unavailable, a text popup “The Driver Monitoring System is currently unavailable” will appear on the instrument screen. During this process, the malfunction indicator light for the driver monitoring function will also illuminate.
When the system prompts that the DMS function is restricted and it is hard to identify the driver’s eyes, it indicates that the function is in a restricted state. Please remove obstructions such as sunglasses to ensure that the driver’s eyes can be identified or contact an Authorised Repairer.
Function ON: Turn on or off the corresponding function by clicking [Vehicle Settings - ADAS - Driver Distraction Warning/Driver Fatigue Warning]. When the function is on, the system will maintain a monitoring state and alert appropriately when the vehicle speed reaches 6mph (10km/h) and above. Function Activation: When the function switch is on and the vehicle speed requirements are satisfied: When the driver feels drowsy, yawns, or closes his/her eyes, the system will intelligently judge the driver’s fatigue level based on the driver’s state and automatically display an alert on the instrument pack. When the driver is distracted, or does not pay full attention, the system will intelligently judge the driver’s distraction level based on the driver’s state and automatically display an alert on the instrument pack. Function Silent/Exit: When the following conditions occur, the function will operate silently without any alerts: The user disables the DMS fatigue alert or the DMS distraction alert; When the direction indicator switch is activated, the distraction alert will be silent while the fatigue alert will still prompt. When the following conditions occur, the function will be exited:
- User’s operation
- Speed is below 5mph (8km/h)
- The vehicle is not in D Gear
- DMS camera is obstructed
- System failure and other anomalies
